Our first home day was Monday. The girls had a few assignments due for the first day of school, but not too much. The best part of the day was reading some of Aesop's fables....Bennett found them to be absolutely hysterical. She cracks me up.

First day of school. Marin - 2nd grade; Bennett - 1st grade....Reese will start preschool in a few weeks. Poor girl will think she is doing preschool forever because she will have it again next year....

Our fuzzy family picture.

Reese was quite the obedient child while her sisters were at school. She did ask me if she could put on some of marin's lip gloss (a b-day present marin got from a friend). Normally she would have just done it w/o asking. Anyway, she missed her lips totally, but she wanted a picture of herself.

Marin already has an American Girl doll, but after Bennett bought her second one for her b-day, Marin was inspired (read: jealous) and wanted Maggie (her doll) to have a friend. Again, I told her we would buy one doll only. If she wanted a second one (and two is the limit) she would have to use her b-day money for it. So, she said that was what she wanted to do. The fun thing was that my mom was in Dallas a few weeks ago, so she picked Lanie up and I just took the check from my grandfather - and never mentioned it to Marin. So, she had no idea she was going to get her - we actually gave her to her the night before her b-day. I haven't seen her that excited about a present in a long time. It was very sweet. And, Marin tells us that maggie is very happy to have a sister. Thank goodness. We would hate for our American Girl dolls to be sad.....

Marin has been begging us for a fish. and a dog. but, she knows the dog thing isn't going to happen as long as she lives under our roof. So, we gave in to the fish. After we finished up school work this morning, we went and bought "Bubbles." The girls are all so excited. If Reese's presence doesn't literally shock him to death, I'll be surprised. She has had quite a day. Cody took her to get Jumburrito for breakfast, then some school work, then to Barnes and Noble to spend a gift card she got for her b-day, then a slight detour to the Honda place to get a new battery for my van, then lunch at Quiznos, then a date w/ my mom, ice cream, then dinner at outback, and now she and her daddy are assembling the desk we got her for her room.
