So last Tuesday was my turn. We went w/ a Patriotic theme for Camp Wannalaughalotta since it was just before the 4th. My nephews were in town for Kids' College, so they joined us. Our a/c had been out for three days, but it was back on, but they were finishing the floors on that day, so we met at my parents' house again. This was Flag Tag. There wasn't actually "tag" in Flag Tag.

We made a couple of crafts - this was one of them. I have no pictures of the finished products.

Rocket dogs. I found the idea on Family Fun. Amazingly enough - super picky eater Reese who hasn't touched a hot dog in her entire life, ate these and loved them. I cooked them again last weekend and she ate 2 of them. Go figure. I guess it is all in the presentation. Anyway - my mom has a way of making all things beautiful, so even lunch looked pretty.

I gave her free reign w/ dessert, and of course, it was very sugary, very yummy, and very pretty.

This week was Brandi's week - "Oceans of Fun". These were octopus made from the top of a hot dog and then pasta as the legs - are they legs? anyway - we didn't expect them to eat them, but some of them did. ewwww.

Outside water fun. Not sure if this breaks the water rationing rules or not....

I have a very cute pic of Marin and Emma but I accidently deleted it from the blog. Not sure how.

The girls have this thing for surrounding Abby when she is being a duck in her duck towel.

Beach cupcakes

house updates. some of the trim still needs to be painted white and the doors still need to be replaced....and the light fixtures....need I go on.....

Pretty much done. need to hang some stuff, paint the mantel, get some curtains, etc.

The 1/2 bath off of the living room/kitchen. We call it the pumpkin bathroom. It used to have teal wallpaper in it. yikes.

the piano room. not sure about which direction I'm going w/ color, so I'm waiting on the couch and curtains. The coffee table was my granddot's, and it has been in our attic for years at various houses, but now we get to finally use it again.

a bit of entry way and the dining room. working on the rug and table.

walking down the hall to the girls' rooms

Marin playing in Reese's room. Extra tall walls - part of the reason I will never paint again.

Marin's side of the bathroom - I'm told it is called a "Hollywood bathroom" but it is essentially an oversized jack and jill bath. need blinds in there. went neutral on the paint so they could change their minds from time to time. This room was a blue and pink plaid wallpaper with carpet. not nice.

Bennett's room. I wanted all the walls the darker shade, but Cody thought it would be a bit much. anyway -she is totally happy w/ it. She sees her closet as an extension of her room, so keeping that door closed is a constant battle.

Marin's purple room. I console myself because at least one of them went w/ a pink room. I need to recover that glider. Cody refuses to get rid of it. I think he bonds more w/ things than I do.

This is leaving Marin's room - those pictures used to be in the playroom. The girls were 4, just turned 3, and 6 months. Some of my favorite pics.
