Under construction

The calm before the storm. The girls have loved being able to eat breakfast at the bar. They figured out the other day that their American Girl dolls can join them up there.

Last week's camp theme was bears. I was in charge of that one, but since our house was/is in the process of being destroyed/redone, we met at my parent's house.

the fun begins. as I type, things are a lot better. all the new tile is now in and the wood floors are almost in. they will finish that tomorrow. that said, it has been a long 12 days. long. long. long. when we first decided to move our real issue was floorplan. when we found this house we (especially me - because I'm here the most) LOVED the floorplan. I could see how it would be great for our family and function well. I didn't want wasted space, and I could see where we would use every room in this house every day. BUT, that said, it needed a LOT LOT LOT of updating. Tile, walls, wallpaper, etc. you name it. all new hardware. new trim paint (much of the main living area and kitchen has wood trim.....I have issues w/ that.) so, we decided we could do this in the summer or never. so, we started last week. seems like last year. I'll try to post new ones soon. amazing what a difference new flooring and paint can make.

ah, yes. three toilets outside.

this was the first coat. I found a beautiful picture in pottery barn that I am trying to recreate in the dining room. I know we will do school in there, so I wanted it to be calm and beautiful.

happy father's day. It was definitely one he will remember.....
